for Town of McCandless
Town Council, Ward 3:
The Healthy Balance
Why I Want to Run
Having grown up in McCandless and graduating from NA to raising my family here, having my children in the NA school district and having my small business here, I can't overstate how much of a vested interest I have in this Town now--and in the future.
This is the reason, along with my family and business responsibilities, I have voluntarily served on multiple Town committees and regularly dedicate an average of 10 - 15 hours per week to work on the various Town Projects of which I am a part.
After being privy to my work in these roles, multiple people who I admire and respect repeatedly asked me if I would consider running for Town Council. Deeply honored by these requests, and after serious consideration, I decided that I could benefit members of this community in an even more impactful way by serving on Council.
I also realized that my action-based, results oriented approach means that I can ensure us community members get our voices heard and GET TANGIBLE RESULTS after doing so.
My thoughtful, competent, measured, detail-oriented approach means making sure the Town of McCandless preserves all that's made it such a great place to live while ensuring it stays relevant with the changing times and continues to also attract families, working people and the younger demographics. It also means continuing to preserve our green spaces while making sure we welcome responsible business development for growth now and in the future.
How Deawna Alfonsi Currently Serves the Town:
Why I Want to Run
I was raised in McCandless and graduated from North Allegheny. Now, my husband and I are raising our family here, and I even run my own small business here in McCandless. I am invested here and want to see this beautiful community continue to thrive for citizens and for businesses.
My love for this Town is what prompted me to serve on several Town committees and to volunteer to work on various Town projects.
During my time on committees and projects, several people who I have worked with and respect asked if I would consider running for Town Council. I was deeply honored by these requests, and after serious consideration, decided that this would be an even more significant way to serve my community and the people of Ward 3.
I also realized that my action-based, results-oriented approach would ensure that community members would have their voices HEARD and GET TANGIBLE, DIRECT RESULTS.
My approach will make sure the Town of McCandless preserves all that has made it such a great place to live and raise a family, and in addition, ensure that it stays relevant with changing times and continues to attract young families and working people. It also means continuing to preserve our green spaces while making sure we welcome responsible business development for growth now and for the future of our children and grandchildren.
